What is Tử Vi? Understanding the Vietnamese astrology chart

Tử Vi Đẩu Số is commonly presented as an Eastern esoteric system that uses one's birth moment (lunar year, month, day and hour) to construct a chart of 12 palaces. Each palace is interpreted as a theme of life: destiny, parents, fortune, property, career, allies, travel, health, wealth, children, marriage and siblings.

More than 100 stars are placed on the chart following fixed rules. Each star carries layers of meaning — and what matters most is not any single star, but how they interact within each palace.

Beginners tend to fixate on 'good' versus 'bad' stars. A skilled reader looks at the whole: the standing of the destiny palace, trine formations, oppositions, and the 10-year luck cycles.

Properly understood, Tử Vi is a reference map — not a verdict. The chart shows tendencies; the choices remain yours.
